CRAFTSMANSHIP
FOR GARNIER & LINKER,
IT ALL STARTED WITH WORKSHOPS.
The creative process begins by meeting craftsmen. In this spirit, Garnier & Linker gain a grasp of their practices and skill sets as well as their constraints. Convinced that knowledge of practices is the driver of sustained activity, Garnier & Linker began to journey across France for months as they met with craftsmen.
G&L have since pursued this approach in Japan — and more recently Morocco — with the same conviction to better understand know-how.

REINTERPRETING SAVOIR-FAIRE : THE STARTING POINT FOR COLLECTIONS.
Such knowledge formed the basis of the first Garnier & Linker lighting collection. This understanding has since been embellished through furniture pieces and objects.

ESTABLISHING THE GARNIER & LINKER WORKSHOP TO FOSTER DEEPER INTERACTION.
The Garnier & Linker workshop is located a few minutes away from the studio and imagined as its natural extension.
Above all, this experimental place is the source of materials, textures and finishes.
The workshop also houses handmade wax, plaster and soil models which are entrusted to and then molded by craftsmen.

FOCUSING EFFORTS EQUALLY ON SCULPTURE, DESIGN AND CRAFT.
Designs and handwork are perfected between studio and workshop. This approach is what makes Garnier & Linker creations unique and is central to the development of lighting, furniture and object collections.
